Stephen Beard's team was referred to us by friends who had a great buying experience with them. We interviewed several real estate agents and Stephen and Basak clearly stood out being very knowledgeable. For example, they were able to give us details about the intricacies of HOA regulations (pet policies, ability to rent out property, HOA budget) and added some points to our considerations about earthquake safety. We had previously found a condo online that we were interested in. At the time we made the decision to go with Stephen's team the condo already had one offer on it. Basak went in full steam, carefully interacting with the seller's agent to gather information and communicate our interest. Basak went above and beyond: This was our first offer on a property and despite the time pressure she took time to go through the offer details. She worked night shifts to tie it all together and 24 h after our visit the offer was in and it was accepted the day after. While putting in a lot of energy and work she didn't pressure us ('this is an important decision, I want you to be happy with your choice, you can stop going forward any time'). We very much appreciated Basak's negotiation strategy, e.g., she put in an expiration date on the offer to prevent that the seller could go shopping with our offer at the next open house. During the process I had a conflict with the mortgage broker. Basak was open to changing to another broker, which in the end we decided against. While we were in contract Basak scheduled a last-minute appointment with an excellent inspector. She scheduled this appointment with the inspector extremely fast so that we had the results of the inspection in time to lift our 5-day investigation contingency. Basak was very well organized and passed on repair requests to the developer and followed up on them. I also appreciated her feedback on what she thought was possible to complain about (e.g. ' this is a seller's market...'). I was grateful she completely managed anything related to the property so that we had more time to gather all the documents for our loan. Throughout the entire process Basak and Stephen were very responsive answering texts or emails very quickly. I am not sure someone else would have performed similarly in the time constraints. We felt in very good hands and would happily work with Basak and Stephen again.

Basak is an amazing person and a professional. Basak has tremendous energy, flexibility, attention to detail and at the same time she has the ability to see the big picture. She loves her work and puts in 100% of her energy towards it. Her devotion to her clients surpasses any other agent I know. She knows her craft. We've known Basak since our kids were in daycare together! Now, both our girls are at university, and our friendship and bond has grown deeper over the years. To me, Basak is a great friend, a wonderful mother to her two lovely children, and an incredibly talented designer/architect. Years ago, she designed and completely transformed our outdoor space to an oasis of color and calmness. This year, she completely reimagined our kitchen, bath and living room spaces . Similarly, for a seller, she can find quick and easy ways to enable the house to reach its fullest potential for the highest possible sales price. She is very thorough, resourceful, and straightforward in her work. She discusses multiple angles of a situation, giving full, honest opinion and information for potential outcomes of different choices.
