Berkeley, and Julia Morgan's Berkeley City Club
Discover the architectural wonder that is Julia Morgan's Berkeley City Club!
I attended the tour at last, and wow, and let me tell you, it was so worth it!
This building is just one of over 700 buildings Julia Morgan, the visionary architect of the early 1900s, crafted and designed, and nestled right here in Berkeley.
It was constructed in a mere 11 months, and opened its doors in 1930 as a haven for women's social gatherings and residency. Today, it welcomes all, and offers a blend of club, hotel, restaurant, and event space. And don't miss the breathtaking indoor pool - it is a sight to beholdl!
Every space and each detail is a testament to Morgan's genius, from the delicate touches like the dishes she designed for the club, to the tranquil courtyards, and the majestic windows and arches. Together, they all showcase her signature architecture blend of femininity and beauty.
